Treat Your Family to Avanti’s Gondolas This month we will be offering Avanti's Gondolas and sweet Italian bread. Order forms will go home with your students the week of October 5th and need to be returned to the office by Friday, October 14th. Pick up will be early, 1:30-2:15 (due to early dismissal) on Friday, October 21st. Contact Lisa Tyler (815) 584-9364 for more information. The PTO October meeting will be held on Wednesday, the 12th at 5:30pm in the DGS Library. Officer Gary Beier, Dwight Police Department will be speaking on the procedures for parents and volunteers in the event of an emergency. Childcare is provided. PTO & DJHS Team Up for Technology The PTO voted in August to pledge $6,000 to help upgrade DJHS technology. It was also decided that an additional $6,000 would be raised to help upgrade the elementary grades technology.
Volunteers Needed!! The PTO offers a variety of activities that need parental support throughout the year. Parents are needed to help make decisions and contribute new ideas to make supporting our school the best it can be. Every parent of a DGS/DJHS student has something to offer. Join us and make a difference in your PTO. Print out a volunteer form and send it into the DGS office or contact Kim Frauli (815) 382-0479. Book Exchange The 1st Annual DGS/DJHS Book Exchange will be held on Oct. 27th & 28th during Parent/Teacher conferences. Beginning Oct. 17th-21st, your students can bring in up to 10 previously read books to exchange them for ‘new’ reading material. Information will be sent home and is available on-line.
