DGS PTO Minutes
September 14, 2011
Meeting was called to order at 5:30 by President Kim Frauli.
Attendees were: Lisa Tyler, Jenn Myzia, Kim Frauli, Shelley Peck, Kelly Bruce, Patricia Marshall, Ben Bailey, Susie Fox, Leslie Grieff, Laura Vigna, Anne Bernstein, Leta Leach, Tammy Pulver, Michelle Imhoff, Mary Schulz, Amy DeMarse, and Gretchen Treglio.
Secretary’s Report
August and September minutes will be posted on PTO website
Treasurer’s Update
Bank balance from 7/29/11 $21,228.03
Check for Technology $6,000
Bank Balance as of 8/31/11 $15,228.03
Teacher Reimbursements $1,288
Balance = $13,940.03
Miss Marshall would like teachers to use as much of their PTO money as possible
Market Day Report
44 orders this month, made $286
Will set date for Pie Assembly
Jenn Myzia will do computer entry for orders
Sweetest Day Dance
October 14, 6-8 p.m. , Mother-son dance for grades K-4
Amber Tarnowski is chairing
Doug Patten will DJ
He would like playlist suggestions
Hand out flyers 2 weeks before event
Miss Marshall would like PTO to fill out a building usage form, to be approved by Dr. Jancek

Need volunteers
Tickets will be $5 per family for pre-purchased, $10 per family at the door
PTO Website
Mr. Bailey would like the website to be approved by Mr. Butterbrodt
Basket Raffle/Book Exchange
October 27-28 during Parent/Teacher conferences
Book Exchange
Books will be collected from October 17-21
Students will be given coupons for books they bring in
Need volunteers for committee and during exchange
Forms for students to fill out with name and number of books
Collection box in each classroom
Jenn Myzia will be chairperson, with Leta Leach and Gretchen Treglio on the committee
Basket Raffle
Teachers will decide on themes
Grades can combine if needed
Baskets should be turned in by Friday the week before
PTO will wrap
Jr. High will do one basket
NEW BUSINESS
Gondolas
October 21 (home football game)
Send home forms on Oct. 7, to be returned by the 14th
Jenn will do pickup
Grandparents Day
Difficulty finding volunteers (hard for parents to come in during this time frame)
October Guest Speaker
Gary Beier-emergency procedures for volunteers
Clap-In Survey
Decide whether to keep it or not (can be frightening for younger children)
Write out concerns of teachers/parents and present to Board
Newsletter Items
Need chairpersons’ e-mails/contributions by the 25th of each month
Items to include: Market Day dates, events, PTO decisions, technology, book exchange,
guest speakers, contact info
Attach volunteer forms to newsletter
Festival of Trees
Look into doing a tree at Heritage Woods
